Mike and I have been married for 25 years. We have two beautiful adult children, who have married two more beautiful children, and each have 3 children, making 6 incredibly beautiful , wonderful, talented children. During the time we were raising the initial 2, God sent us another beautiful couple, aged 17 and 14 to join us ( by heart), who married and so we have another 3 gorgeous, talented children. Now just to say that , we have been more than blessed. As God seems to do, above and beyond all we could ask or think, during this time He has sent us many more of His precious children to love. Many of them were friends of our children, church kids, and even one very special gal from Paris. Some of these, I will probably write about at another time.
Recently though, a child came back into our lives from the past. She brought with her a boy. She introduced him and we liked him immediately. He came from a loving mother, seemed sweet and truly cared about, but had never experienced for one reason or another many things our children and grands have taken for granted. This brought to all of us a new adventure. First, he needed to know Jesus. Oh, he tried to fight, but once that Holy Spirit so gently enticed him with that Love, he was hooked. He had never colored Easter eggs, cut down a Christmas tree, chosen a pumpkin, or had a birthday party.
Last Thursday night we surprized him with a little family birthday party at Lucille’s, his favorite place to eat. ( He had only been there once before). We had never been there. It has great atomosphere. It reminded me of the places we have visited in Nashville with Brody and Kristin. The places that you can choose any kind of meat you would like and the list of “sides”….(choose 2!!!!). Joey (his name) was happy and excited and I think even a little surprized.
With all that said, I feel the important thing here is the precious gifts of the Lord. All of these people are gifts from Him. What a priviledge it is to be used by the Father for His children, and all He asks us to do is love them.

Welcome to the blogworld, Brody’s mom.
^Thank you so much, Shaun. May the Lord bless you.

Oh Momma Barb, I love you. You are an invaluable gift from above. I thank God for leading me to Brody’s site, then to Kristin, now to you! I love the way He paints our lives and directs us!! God willing, someday I get to meet you vis-a-vis, but if not here on earth, I know for sure in heaven! Love you so much and God bless.
Thanks to God for His love that we are able to share with one another!
~Hebrews 10~
[23] Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
[24] And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,
[25] not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
