What a wonderful blessing you have been to me and to my kiddos and my whole family. You see, all of your encouragment, love, and prayers sink into my spirit and absorb themselves into my very soul. Then, they in turn radiate this warmth – this “Barb glow” out onto all the precious people in my life. It’s like my dad used to say (“From God to me to you”). Only in this case, it’s “From God to Barb to me to them…” and on and on it goes. I am sorry that you feel a little like Eeyore on your b-days( you know, how that pesky ol’ raincloud often just follows him around and his head droops a bit in the shadow of it). Actually, my dad used to struggle with that same kind of thing on special days of the year. My mom told me later that he struggled with some not very happy memories when he was younger and as he got older they’d sometimes sneak back up on him. So, you aren’t the only one. I know the Lord understands all the workings and ponderings of your innermost recesses and He knows who you are. Gracious, lovely, grateful, giving, talented, encouraging, purposeful, tender-hearted, faithful Barb, His blessed daughter.
What a wonderful day. The day God choose to send you to earth. The day He began to share you, His special one-of-a-kind masterpiece…with the rest of the world. I for one, am so excited that I have gotten (in some small way) to be included in your amazing story. I know He has great plans for you birthday girl. So, take a deep breath, blow out your candles, and follow Him!
